The Story
In the 1970's, Peter and Jeff's father, Marvin Berres, ran a coffee,
soda and snack vending business serving companies in the Watertown
area. The brothers formed the roasting company in 1992 in order
to supply the vending accounts with coffee.
The vending business was sold in 1997, and Peter took over the
roasting business in 2000. Since then, the roasting business has
gradually grown, and they have steadily changed their focus from
selling to their vending customers to roasting high quality coffees
for more discriminating coffee drinkers.
Berres Brothers Coffee Roasters, Inc. currently employs 42 full/part-time
staff members. They currently sell over 55 flavored coffees, 20
Signature Roasts and a wide variety of organics from South and Central
America.

Passions
Coffee should taste great and be enjoyed and savored - and the
better the coffee, the greater the enjoyment. Berres Brothers fosters
an enjoyment of coffee by opening their roasting facilty to tours
and teaching classes about coffee. They give back to the community
by helping to raise money for local volunteer organizations and
by sending coffee to our troops overseas.
Berres Brothers believes in taking trips to origin to develop a
better relationship with their farmers. They are also working to
send a group of local students to Guatemala to work with some local
coffee farmers.
