The Story
A father (Jeff) and son (Tony) team, Jeff was an unfulfilled Indonesian
Language Professor at the University of Washington-Seattle, and
Tony was a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin sporting
a Philosophy degree. Jeff really enjoyed drinking macchiatos after
school. Tony, after a string of minimum wage jobs, landed an entry
job at Peet's Coffee in Portland, OR, sweeping floors and scooping
beans.
Coffee brought them together and forged a path for their future.
After lots of talk and planning, they opened Metropolis in Chicago
in December of 2003.
